Blood Pressure

High blood pressure, is also known as hypertension, and is called the Silent Killer. The heart generates pressure in order to push your blood through your arteries to be delivered to your various bodily systems. Your arteries can rupture under the force of excess internal pressure. If the pressure exerted from the heart is too great, or if the elasticity of your arteries has been compromised, then it may be that you have developed high blood pressure. Many people may be totally unaware of it. In the vast majority of cases, it is completely preventable. The good news is that it is usually reversible as well.

High blood pressure, although often overlooked, has small telltail symptoms. Hypertension is seldom diagnosed until an individual has experienced heavy risks for heart disease, stroke, kidney failure and other possible medical situtations. Most physicians prescribe medication to control hypertension instead of prescribing proper eating and exercise.
